Introducing the InkWalker Collective

Welcome to the InkWalker Collective, a Spotify playlist project by writers, for writers. A group of us have got together and created 10 playlists to suit most moods, providing you with soundtracks to fuel your creativity!

Some time ago, in a twitterverse close to home, myself and Adrian Walker got to talking about music and writing. We both use it to escape, to set the mood for writing particular scenes, and to inspire and feed our ideas. While discussing Spotify playlists as a tool for this process, we decided to set out on a side quest.

Most of the time, wrangling writers to do anything in a semi-organised fashion is an almost impossible task, but not this time. I was remarkably surprised by this. It turns out that music is a unifier.

So far, contributors include myself, Adrian, Derek Künsken, Daniel Soule, Tim Hardy, Matthew Ward, Rod Duncan, Ida Keogh, Emma Leadley and Madeleine White, with more to come!

What’s wonderful about this project, is the fact that for each playlist, every writer has been contributing a whole range of tracks from all genres. This mixing pot creates an eclectic selection, and a glimpse into the zone these brilliant people inhabit while doing their best work.

Some of them have added their own tracks, others have emailed with suggestions to be added on their behalf. However it’s happened, we’ve got it together and we’re very excited to share it with you.

We’ll be releasing one playlist every week!
